What size barn door do I need?

Your door should be 2–4 inches wider than your doorway opening on each side, and 1–2 inches taller than the opening. Visit our How to Measure guide for step-by-step instructions.

Do your doors come with hardware?

Please check the individual product listing — some of our doors come with hardware kits included, while others are door panels only. If you need hardware, we offer complete hardware kits separately.

How much wall space do I need beside the door?

You need at least as much clear wall space as the door is wide. For example, a 40-inch door needs 40 inches of unobstructed wall beside the doorway for the door to slide fully open. Also check for light switches, outlets, and trim.

Can I install the door myself?

Yes! Most homeowners can install a barn door in 1–2 hours with basic tools. See our Installation Guide for a full walkthrough. We recommend having a second person to help lift and hang the door.

What kind of wall do I need?

The track must be secured to wall studs or a solid header board. Drywall alone is not strong enough to support the weight of the door. A stud finder is essential before installation.

Will the door seal the opening completely?

Barn doors slide in front of the wall and are not airtight — there is typically a small gap on the sides and bottom. They are ideal for bedrooms, home offices, closets, and laundry rooms, but are not recommended where an airtight seal is required.

What wood are your doors made from?

Our doors are crafted from premium solid wood. Please refer to each product listing for the specific wood type and finish details.

Can I paint or stain the door?

Yes. If your door arrives unfinished or with a raw wood surface, you can paint or stain it to match your interior. We recommend applying a wood conditioner first for an even finish.
